Design Flex is a Windows-native application developed specifically to interface with Windows-based APIs and system libraries. As such, it is not designed to operate natively on macOS.
Historically, users have employed Boot Camp to run Windows on Mac hardware. However, with Apple's transition to Apple Silicon (M1, M2, and M3 chips) beginning in 2020, support for Boot Camp has been discontinued. Given that these new chips utilize ARM architecture rather than Intel's x86 architecture, traditional Windows installations are no longer supported natively.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The use of Parallels or comparable virtualization software is strongly discouraged.
Executing Design Flex within a virtualized environment substantially impairs rendering performance. Because Design Flex depends heavily on precise graphical processing, the overhead introduced by virtualization often results in latency, visual artifacts, and an overall degraded user experience.
| Feature | Compatibility Status | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Native macOS Support | Not Supported | Utilize a dedicated Windows PC. |
| Boot Camp (Intel Macs) | Deprecated | Not recommended for long-term stability. |
| Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) | Incompatible | No native Windows support is available. |
| Parallels / Virtualization | Strongly Discouraged | Results in significant rendering issues. |
