The size of the rendering window can affect the time it takes to complete the render. A large render window can take up to twice as long to render.
The rendering engine (RedSDK by RedWay3D) in Design uses both your CPU and your GPU (Graphics Card).
CPU
- The CPU is used to render the image (When clicking the camera icon in the Rendering module).
- Your CPU’s performance affects rendering time.
- The more cores your CPU has, the faster the system can render.
- We recommend processor i7 - 8th generation (Quad Core) or AMD Ryzen 7 models.
Graphics Card
- The better the card, the faster real-time renders will be (more fluid camera movements).
- A better graphics card will not generate nicer renderings, but it will generate them at a faster rate.
Level of design complexity
- Lighting, glass, mirrors, and reflective materials all affect rendering time to a certain extent.
- Objects such as flowers are were very complex shapes. To see if there are any complex objects in a design, switch to Wireframe mode and see how many Lines an object has.
To access the View Mode/Quality window, click the View Mode/Quality button in the Rendering Dashboard.
In EZ Render mode:
In Redway3d mode:
In the following example, the flowers have so many lines they’re almost completely black in Wireframe.
Items like that look more realistic when rendered, but also take longer time to render because of their shape complexity.
