Constraint cuts are generated where
-
a slab exceeds the maximum width specified in the catalog,
-
a cutout is present; it is centered on the cutout, and
-
a slab exceeds the maximum depth specified in the catalog.
User cuts are only generated by the user with the Edit Shape, Section #, Add Cut command.
The following table identifies each cut type and its associated corner types:
Miter cut
A miter cut is a corner cut with a 45-degree angle from the front point to the back point. The miter cut is used on linear and surface items. Other cuts that are available for this corner type include: straight cut, straight max-depth cut, and bull nose cut.
Complete the following steps to change a miter cut to a straight cut:
-
Point to the countertop with the miter cut, right-click, and select Edit Shape.
-
Point to the miter cut that you want to modify and right-click.
-
Point to Miter Cut in the pop-up menu, and select Straight Cut from the Cut Menu.
Straight cut
A straight cut is a corner cut with a 90-degree angle from a front point to the intersection of a corresponding front line and back line.
There are two straight cut types: one for each front line touching the front point. If you do not need a length-constraint cut, the program produces the cut counterclockwise to the corner point. Other available cuts for this corner type include: miter cut, straight max-depth cut, and bull nose cut.
Complete the following steps to change a straight cut to a bull nose cut:
-
Point to the countertop with the cut, right-click, and select Edit Shape.
-
Point to the straight cut that you want to modify and right-click.
-
Point to Straight Cut in the pop menu and select Bull Nose Cut from the Cut Menu.
Straight maximum depth cut and how to edit it
A corner cut placed at the maximum depth of the slab used. Whether you place countertops manually or automatically, this cut can appear either to the right or the left of the corner. By default, the program uses the section to the left of the corner as the reference, which may cause unnecessary cuts to appear. To avoid this, you should delete the generated cuts and add a cut to the right of the corner. Other available cuts for this corner type include: miter cut, straight cut, and bull nose cut.
Complete the following steps to change a straight max-depth cut to a miter cut:
-
Point to the countertop with the cut, right-click, and select Edit Shape.
-
Point to the straight max-depth cut and right-click.
-
In the pop-up menu, point to Straight Max-Depth Cut, and select Miter Cut from the Cut Menu.
Double cut and how to edit it
This European type of cut actually produces two cuts. It is generated either on a diagonal corner or on an arched corner. On both types of corners, the cuts start at the front points of the diagonal line and end at the back points. Other available cuts for this corner type include: null nose cut, diagonal cut, and diagonal w/cutoff.
Complete the following steps to change a double corner cut to a diagonal cut:
-
Point to the countertop with the cut, right-click, and select Edit Shape.
-
Point to one of the double corner cuts and right-click.
-
Point to Double Corner Cut in the pop-up menu, and select Diagonal Cut from the Cut Menu.
Diagonal cut and how to edit it
The diagonal cut is a double corner cut made on diagonal corners only. The orientation is calculated from the half angle between the diagonal front points and their adjacent lines, which are then intersected with back points. Other available corner cuts for this corner type include: bull nose cut, double cut, and diagonal w/cutoff.
Complete the following steps to change a diagonal cut to a double cut:
-
Point to the countertop with the cut, right-click, and select Edit Shape.
-
Point to one of the diagonal cuts and right-click.
-
Point to Diagonal Cut in the pop-up menu, and select Double Cut from the Cut Menu.
