You can add countertops and trims (moldings, soffits, etc.) manually in your designs (cabinets must be present prior to placing countertops) or automatically.
You can also create a countertop layout with or without a design with the Countertop Wizard.
Add countertops and trims manually
- In the ITEMS ribbon, click the Countertops button.
Note: You can also select a countertop or a related component in the Drag & Drop list.
- In the Countertops dialog box, select a catalog.
- Double click a category (Countertops).
- Select the countertop item that you want to place.
- Click Place.
- Select a base cabinet.
- In the Countertops dialog box, click Close.
Add countertops and trims automatically
Complete the following steps to add countertops, moldings, and toe kicks automatically:
- In the ITEMS ribbon, click Countertop and Trims. The Countertops & Trims dialog box opens.
- To add countertops, splashes, edges, moldings, soffits, and/or toe kicks, select the checkbox in the left column of the Countertops & Trims dialog box. To omit an item, clear its checkbox.
- In the Catalog column, select a catalog for each item that you intend to draw. The default catalog shown was assigned in the Preferences dialog box.
- In the Model column, select the model. Clear the Show item codes checkbox if you do not want to see user codes in the selections.
- Click Add to add the selected items to your design and close the dialog box.
Tip: To remove an added item, select the item's checkbox and then click Delete.
Note: When the selected countertop or trim model exceeds the maximum dimensions, conflicting sections are identified with a hatched pattern.
Freestanding countertops
Freestanding countertops are countertop sections that are not added to base cabinets. You can add freestanding countertops from the Items ribbon or the Local Browser list.
Complete the following steps to add a freestanding countertop using the Items ribbon:

In the ITEMS ribbon, click the Countertops button

In the Countertops dialog box, double-click Countertops and then double-click either Predefined Top or Misc. Top.

Double-click the countertop model, or select it and click Place.

Click in the Floor Plan, position the shape, and click again to confirm.

To edit the countertop shape or attributes (type, texture, up/down value, thickness, etc.), point to the countertop, right-click, and select the edit option. See Edit countertops and trims for more information.
Complete the following steps to add a freestanding countertop using the Local Browser:

In the Local Browser, select the ROOM_TOP catalog.

Double-click Countertops and then double-click Predefined Top.

Select the countertop, drag it to the Floor Plan, and click to set.

To edit the countertop shape or attributes (type, texture, up/down value, thickness, etc.), point to the countertop, right-click, and select the edit option. See Edit countertops and trims for more information.
