When opening Design, the following error message will appear:
The Idea Center catalogs are corrupted!
This error is due to the missing SQL Server Compact 3.5 Service Pack 2 for Windows Desktop.
Follow the steps below to correctly download and install Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 Service Pack.
Step 1: Download SQL Server Compact
CLICK HERE to access the Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 Service Pack download page.
On the Microsoft page, locate and click the Download button.
Step 2: Run the installer
Navigate to the location where the downloaded file was saved.
Double-click the downloaded installer file.
When a warning message is displayed, click Yes to proceed with the installation.
Step 3: Choose where to extract the files
Click Browse to select the location where the files will be extracted.
Select the Desktop to make it easier to locate the files in the next steps, then click OK.
Click OK again to complete the extraction process.
Step 4: Install SQL Server Compact
Open the folder where the files were extracted (if you followed the previous steps, this folder will be the Desktop).
Run the file SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi.
Click Next.
Accept the license agreement and click Next.
Click Install and wait for the installation to complete.
After finishing, repeat the same steps using the file SSCERuntime_x64-ENU.msi.
After installing both packages, restart the computer.
Once the system is back on, open Design and verify that the error message no longer appears.
