To move in or out
Complete the following steps to move an item by dragging it:
-
Make sure that Disable placement zone drag setting is selected in Preferences.
-
Select the item and drag it away from or closer to the wall.
-
To move an item in or out to a distance that is less than the specified snap distance, press the SHIFT key while dragging the item.
Complete the following steps to move the item using the In/Out command:
-
In the Floor Plan, point to the item, right-click, and select In/Out.
-
Move the item away from or closer to the wall/construction line. You can even place the item behind the wall/construction line.
-
To move the item left or right, right-click and drag the item; right-click again to move it in or out.
-
Click to set the final position.
To move an item in or out to a distance that is less than the specified Snap distance, press the SHIFT key when you click to confirm, otherwise the item will align (snap) with the front of other items. Press the CTRL key to inset an item within a wall or construction line.
If you go outside the limits of the wall/construction line, the item becomes freestanding.
Enable or disable in/out mode to move in all directions
You can enable/disable the In-Out/Up-Down mode to keep or ignore the item’s current horizontal or vertical placement value. Enabling this mode can be useful, for example, when moving an item that needs to be placed at a different height or distance from a wall.
The In-Out/Up-Down button, located in the Work Area toolbar, allows you to ignore (button OFF) the current In-Out and Up-Down values of an item, or to keep these values (button ON) when using the Duplicate and Move commands on an item.
