From the Floor Plan Area
If you are working only in the Floor Plan area without any Elevation area open, you can move an item up or down using the Up/Down from floor dialog box.
Complete the following steps to move an item in a Floor Plan area:
-
Select the item that you want to move, right-click, and select Up/Down.
-
In the Up/Down from Floor dialog box, enter the up/down value. You can also use the arrows to make your selection in one-inch increments. The left arrows are for integers and the right arrows are for fractions.
-
Click OK to confirm the new vertical position. To actually see the new position, you must open an Elevation area for the wall where this item is placed.
Note: Up/down value
If the selected item is a floor-mounted item, no value appears since the up/down value is calculated from the floor up to the base of the item. If you select a wall-mounted item, the current up/down value shows the distance between the floor and the base of the item.
For example, if the current alignment for wall-mounted items is 84" and the selected item is 30" high, the current up/down value would be 54", i.e., the distance between the floor and the base of the item.
From the Elevation Area
Complete the following steps to move an item in an Elevation area:
-
Point to the item that you want to move up or down, right-click, and select Up/Down.
-
Move the item to the new vertical position. You can even move the item outside the wall/construction zone.
To move the item to the left or right, right-click and drag the item; right-click again to move the item up/down.
To move an item up or down and override the default snap distance, press the SHIFT key when you click to confirm. Otherwise, the item will align (snap) with the top or base of other items. -
Click to set the final position.
