Scene (room)
Complete the following steps to quickly render without worrying about other settings:
-
To edit light effects, click the Light Effects button in the Rendering Dashboard.
-
In the Light Mode pane, select Scene.
-
Select the Auto Lighting Intensity from the list. We recommend 40 watts. The Auto Lighting feature calculates both the dimensions of your room(s) and any substantial pieces of furniture or decorations that you place in the middle of the layout and then adds lighting accordingly. For the best effects, make sure your rendering has flooring that was added through the Floor option in the Textures/Display Settings dialog box or through the Surface Tool.
-
If you add an Ambient Light, move the slider bar until you achieve the best effect.
-
To see additional light sources in the rendering, such as lamps and spots, select the Visible check box in the User Light Intensity pane and move the slider bar to the best light intensity.
Note: To better see the Ambient Light and the User Light, turn off Auto Lighting
Image (properties)
The Exposure Image Property allows you to change the rendering brightness (tone mapping) in real-time, using a scale of 1% to 10% of more or less brightness. The slider bar or the value field can be used. This feature uses the Tone mapping process which ensures that the details in highlights and shadows in the image can be correctly viewed on printouts and standard monitors in spite of their limited dynamic range capability. Exposure helps you output better printouts, CRT or LCD projected images, since these devices all have a limited dynamic range that is inadequate to reproduce the full range of light intensities present in natural scenes.
Select Image, add a check mark to Exposure and use the slide bar or the value field to increase or decrease brightness.
