The Sections Linked and Sections Unlinked modes are similar to the Link mode in the Work Area toolbar.
Most edit commands pertaining to a group (walls or construction lines) will activate the Sections Linked button in the Edit Shape ribbon, as shown in the following figure. This indicates that edits will affect the entire group.
To edit a single wall/construction line, click Sections Unlinked in the Edit Shape ribbon. When the Edit Shape ribbon closes, nonadjacent walls and constructions lines become separated from their original group and can be edited individually; you can no longer edit the walls or lines as a unit.
Most of the time you will want to use the default mode, which is the linked mode. When you select a section and move it in linked mode, all components of the section follow.
When you use the unlinked mode, you can move one line or point at a time without moving all components within the section. In other words, all other lines and points in the section are independent.
Note: Remember, when you exit the Edit Shape mode, sections that are no longer adjacent in the Floor Plan become independent. The next time you edit these sections, they are no longer part of the original item.
