Complete the following steps to add a note to a Floor Plan or Elevation area with or without a tag number:
Add the note
In the Annotations ribbon, click Add Note
To place the note, position the floating text box on the Floor Plan or Elevation area and click to set the final position or right-click to rotate the note before setting the final position. The Add/Edit Note dialog box opens:
Create the note
Type the text in the note field, pressing the ENTER key to create line breaks.
You can also click Open to load a text file (.txt) and modify it.
You can press the CTRL+C (Copy), CTRL+X (Cut), and CTRL+V (Paste) keys to cut/copy and paste text from another application into the Add/Edit Note dialog box.
Once the note is finished click OK to add it to the floor plan or elevation
Assign a tag number (optional)
In the Add/Edit Note dialog box enter a number in the Tag number field and click OK to close the dialog box.
Position the tag number box over the item that the note refers to and click to set it.
You can right-click to rotate the tag number before setting its final position.
Align the text of the note
Click one of the Alignment icons to set the alignment
Note: from version 14.10 you can center-align notes.
Editing the font
To change the font of a single note or to change the default display settings i.e. font type, size, style and color for the text and tag, follow the steps in this article How to change the font settings for notes
Saving the note for re-use
Click Save to open the Save As dialog box. Once a note is saved, you can click Open to reuse the note file.
Delete a note
To delete a note, select the note, right-click, and select Delete.
Note: All associated tags (reference numbers or other) are also deleted.
