The Overall Settings pane allows you to select default options, such as a default document type or a default printer, and to activate the File recovery feature.
To access the Overall Settings pane, in the FILE menu, select Preferences. In the Preferences dialog box, select Overall Settings.

Display dimension lines with architectural ticks, filled arrows or dots |
In the Dimension Arrowheads section, select Architectural Tick (default), Filled Arrow or Dot from the Select the arrowhead type list. |
Display long or short extension lines on dimensions |
Under Continuous Dimensions, Select the Long extension lines check box to display long lines, or clear it to display short lines. |
Specify your default printer |
In the Default Printer section, select the printer from the list. |
Enter your customer information when starting a new document |
Select the Show design information dialog box when creating a new design check box. For instructions on using the Design Information dialog box, see Enter customer information. |
Update items automatically or manually or choose to update them later when a design contains outdated items |
Select the Update outdated items (if required) when loading a design check box. |
When 2020 Design encounters a problem while you are working on a design, you can now retrieve the recovery files more easily. |
Select the File Recovery check box; in the Every field enter the interval between file recoveries (minimum 5 minutes). Type the number directly in the field or use the arrow keys. |
Display all components related to an object when you are editing the object in the Edit Attributes dialog box |
Select the Show Item Components in Attributes check box. |
Show all item details when working with a Feature & Options catalog and using the corresponding dialog box |
Clear the Collapse all in Features and Options dialog box check box. |
Stay logged in or out of your 2020 Design account when you close the application. |
If you want to automatically log out of your 2020 Design account when closing the application, select the Automatic logout when application closes check box. To stay signed in to your 2020 Design account, clear this check box. |
