Design Flex 14.10 introduces a combination of rendering improvements, performance updates, and expanded Flex Cloud capabilities. This release focuses on improving visual quality, reducing friction in everyday workflows, and providing better visibility and control across projects, users, and locations.

Cycles remembers rendering quality

Rendering workflows are now faster and more convenient. Design Flex will remember the last rendering quality you selected, so you no longer need to repeatedly change the quality setting each time you create a new rendering. Your preferred quality is automatically restored the next time you render using the same rendering engine.

This reduces repetitive setup and helps maintain consistent rendering output.

Cleaner artificial lighting in Cycles

We've improved the visual quality of Cycles renderings by resolving an issue where automatic scene lights could appear as visible white circles on ceilings in presentation views. Scene lighting now renders correctly, providing cleaner and more professional-looking visuals without unwanted lighting artefacts.

Coming soon: AI Image Enhancer

Create presentation-ready visuals faster with the new AI Image Enhancer. Available directly from the rendering window, this feature lets you enhance rendered images with AI-generated decorative elements or improve existing visuals in just a few clicks. Enhanced images can be previewed in a gallery, saved individually or in bulk, and reused throughout your design session, helping you quickly produce more polished and engaging customer presentations.

Legend support for Cloud Catalogs

The Legend feature now fully supports cloud catalogs, making it easier to identify and reference cloud-based items in your designs. Cloud catalog items are automatically included in legends, and legend display settings now recognize both cloud and file-based catalogs. The catalog selection list is dynamically filtered to show only catalogs used in the current design, helping keep legend configuration clear and relevant. Preferences and display options for cloud items now behave consistently with file-based content, providing a more streamlined and predictable workflow.

Center-Aligned notes

A highly requested enhancement is now available!
You can now center-align notes directly within Design Flex, giving you greater control over the appearance of annotations, titles, and customer-facing documentation.

Create cleaner, more professional layouts with formatting that better matches your presentation and printing standards.

Design Flex now automatically synchronizes the design item list with Flex Cloud when a design is saved. Item details, including styles, pricing, features, options, and attachments, are transferred to Flex, helping ensure quotes reflect the latest design information. Parent and child item relationships are also maintained, providing a clearer and more accurate item structure within Flex.

Unified Improvements for Enhanced Workflow and User Experience

This release enhances the overall Flex Cloud experience by making it easier to manage locations and users, improving visibility of key information, and reducing manual steps in daily tasks. New search capabilities and clearer user details help you find and manage resources more efficiently, while automated notifications and dashboard updates keep information current without extra effort. Additional flexibility in project duplication and shop configuration supports more consistent workflows and better alignment with organizational processes.

Improved location management - Finding and managing locations is now faster and more intuitive. You can search using multiple criteria, including City, State, ZIP code, or Country, making it easier to locate the correct shop or showroom. For more information click here.
Enhanced user visibility - User information is now more transparent and easier to understand. The system displays the assigned showroom for each user, along with the date they were added, providing better insight into user setup and activity. For more information click here.
Showroom reference number field - A new editable Showroom Reference Number field has been introduced. This allows you to customize showroom identifiers to align with your organization’s internal processes and reporting requirements. For more information click here.
Recent Designs widget - The Dashboard now includes a Recent Designs widget, which displays the eight most recently modified designs. This provides quick access to active work and helps users resume tasks more efficiently. For more information click here.
Dashboard auto-refresh - Dashboard widgets now refresh automatically in the background. This removes the need for manual refresh, ensuring that the information displayed is always up to date.
Copy project Designs and/or Documents - When duplicating a project, you now have the option to copy and link associated project designs and design documents. These improvements provide greater transparency into lead data and reduce manual effort during lead conversion, making it easier for teams to manage leads effectively. They also enable organisations to track and customise lead sources more accurately, while enhanced history tracking offers clearer insight into how leads progress through the sales process. Lead Source Tracking - You can view the originating lead source directly from contacts, with a clear message displayed when no lead source is available to ensure data transparency. For more information click here.

Payments and Quotes improvements

This update introduces enhancements to payments and quoting, providing greater flexibility for multi-location operations and improving accuracy when working with quotes. These improvements help organisations better manage payment configurations while reducing the risk of outdated or incorrect quoting.

Multi-location Payments - Each showroom can now have its own payment account, providing greater flexibility and control for organizations operating across multiple locations. Payment processing can also be enabled or disabled at the location level, allowing businesses to tailor payment availability as needed.
Quote Version Control - The system detects when a quote is based on an outdated design, helping to prevent costly mistakes such as incorrect item lists, scope discrepancies, or misalignment between the design and quoted products. Users also receive alerts when item lists change, ensuring they are aware of updates that may impact the accuracy of the quote.
