Creating coffered ceilings is quick and easy once you know how to use 3D Shape and the Placement Tool for copying.
- Begin with a rectangle under ANNOTATIONS tab, turned into a 3D Shape. Modify the Attributes to be the appropriate height, thickness, and texture.
- Edit the shape of the rectangle using Extrude from the Line Menu.
- Remember to use the Placement box to type in the dimensions to be precise.
- Once the first section is complete, use the Placement Tool to copy the additional pieces across the room.
- Use an additional 3D Shape to enclose the end of the last section.
- In the Drag and Drop, choose the Room Catalog. Under Architectural Elements, Ceilings, you’ll find the CLG.MLDG which is perfect for completing the Coffered Ceiling.
-
Drag the CLG.MLDG into the design. Double click it to modify the Attributes to the appropriate size and texture.
- Drag the CLG.MLDG into place inside one of the ceiling sections.
- Use the Placement Tool to copy the CLG.MLDG into the remaining sections quickly and easily.
