The Symbols command allows you to place symbols, such as electrical symbols, to annotate your design. When you place a symbol on the floor plan and Elevation area, the label will automatically appear along with its symbol.
Follow the steps below to know how to add symbols and modify the labels.
Add symbols to your design
- In the Items ribbon, click the Symbols button .
Alternatively, you can select a symbol from the ROOM catalog in the Local Browser. - In the Symbols dialog box, double-click a symbol category.
- Select a symbol and click Place.
- Click in the Floor Plan or Elevation area (wall or elsewhere).
- If you no longer want to place this symbol, press ESC.
- If you want to place the symbol, move it to the required position and click to set, or type location values in the Placement box and press ENTER.
- You can also select the symbol and use the right-click menu to pull the symbol in/out on the Floor Plan or up/down in Elevation.
- Click Close to close the Symbols dialog box.
To display/hide the item's label
In the Label pane of the Item tab, select or clear Display.
To change the label font type, style, size, effect, and color
In the Label pane of the Item tab, click Font.
