On Using Wall Properties, you can have the ceiling and walls:
- Connect depending on the wall height. Connect in any case, no matter what the wall heights is or,
- Never connect (for example peninsula walls).
- Complete the following 6 steps to create a layout with a cathedral ceiling:
- Create four walls: Wall 1 consists of two 60" colinear walls (Wall 1, sections #1 and#2), Wall 2 consists of one 200" wall, Wall 3 consists of two 60" collinear walls (Wall 3, sections #1 and #2), and Wall 4 consists of one 200" wall.
- Point to any wall (not the placement zone) and double-click to open the Wall Properties dialog box.
- To create a cathedral ceiling, you need to change the height of the four colinear sections for Wall 1 and Wall 3. But first, specify that you want walls to connect to the ceiling based on their height.
In the Type tab, look at the ceiling options. By default, the ceiling connects to the walls depending on their height, which is what you want. If for any reason you would want a 20" high wall to connect to the ceiling, you would choose Connect to ceiling (the system will disregard any illogical wall/ceiling connection). - In the Dimensions tab, change the section heights of Wall 1 and Wall 3.
- In the Wall Properties dialog box, click Apply and OK.
- Double-click in the placement zone of the first 120" vertical wall (to the left) to display an Elevation view. Then re-scale by double-clicking the wheel button in both views.
You can now clearly see the cathedral ceiling that was created with various wall heights. Any other angled ceiling can also be created using wall heights.
