Use the right-click commands to view characteristics of single walls or of wall groups.
The commands available in the Edit Shape mode are nearly identical to the commands that are available when you select a wall/construction line (individual or group) in the floor plan and right click.
Complete the following steps to access the Edit Wall Shape mode:
- Point to any wall or construction line, right click, and select Edit Wall Shape.
The endpoints on the wall structure are displayed and the EDIT SHAPE ribbon appears, as shown in the following figure. You can edit the entire group or one wall/construction line at a time.
- To exit the Edit Wall Shape mode and close the EDIT SHAPE ribbon, click one of the following buttons in the Edit Shape ribbon:
-
Accept Changes to save all your modifications and exit.
- Discard Changes to ignore all your modifications and exit.
The Sections Linked and Sections Unlinked modes are similar to the link mode in the Work Area toolbar.
Most edit commands pertaining to a group (walls or construction lines) will activate the Sections Linked button in the Edit Shape ribbon. This indicates that edits will affect the entire group.
To edit a single wall/construction line, click Sections Unlinked in the Edit Shape ribbon. When the Edit Shape ribbon closes, nonadjacent walls and construction lines become separated from their original group and can be edited individually; you can no longer edit the walls or lines as a unit.
For Front Dimension wall justification, use the front dimension, if you have inside wall measurements and are drawing in a clockwise direction.
Most architectural plans are drawn with centerline dimensions for new construction. If you are drawing a floor plan from the original blueprints, you may use the center dimension wall justification.
Use the back dimension wall justification if you have the outside wall measurements and are drawing in a clockwise direction.
