Add-ons explained

An add-on is an item that is attached to another item, such as a back panel attached to a cabinet. Add-ons can provide extra pricing or functionality. They can also change the physical aspect of an item (e.g., no doors). Furthermore, you can assign an add-on to another add-on.

The Add-Ons tab in the Attributes dialog box displays the add-ons that are available for all components of an item, whether you edit the item as a whole, a configuration, an assembly, a part, or an edge. This allows you to clearly see which add-ons are available at all levels of the item and easily add/remove add-ons.



You can view particular add-ons, such as Ask Add-ons (e.g., sink base) separately.
Also, when an add-on is Default or Implicit, it is identified with the add-on icon bearing the letter D or I.

   

 

How to add an add-on

Complete the following steps to add add-ons:

  1. In the Items ribbon, click the Add-Ons button

    You can also select an add-on in the Local Browser.

  2. Select the item that you want to receive the add-on (wall, base, or tall unit or other item).

  3. If the item that you selected is on a wall/construction line, a pop-up menu opens listing all items available in the placement zone, including countertops and trims. In the pop-up menu, select the item that you want to receive the add-on.

  4. In the Select Add-On dialog box, select one or more add-ons to attach to the item.



  5. If the Select a quantity dialog box opens, enter the quantity and click OK.

  6. In the Select Add-On dialog box, click Add to attach the add-on(s) to the item.

  7. Click OK to close the Select Add-On dialog box.

When you attach an add-on in the Floor Plan or Elevation area, the label of the item that received the add-on is underlined. In the Item List, the add-on becomes a subitem of the selected item.  

Assign an add-on

If the current item supports add-ons, the Add-Ons tab allows you to quickly assign add-ons at the desired component level.

Complete the following steps to assign an add-on in the Attributes dialog box:

  1. If the add-on is in another catalog, select the new catalog from the Catalog Name list.



  2. Click the Expand button  to open the desired add-on category, and then select the check box of the add-on that you want to add.



  3. Click Apply.

  4. The add-on now appears in the Item and its components pane of the Attributes dialog box.

Edit an add-on

Complete the following steps to edit an add-on in the Attributes dialog box:

  1. In the Item and its components pane, select the add-on that you want to edit.  

  2. In the right pane, select the tab where you want to make modifications and change the required value.



  3. Click OK.

Delete an add-on

To delete an add-on in the Floor Plan or Elevation area or in the Item List, point to the add-on, right-click, and select Delete. Alternatively, the Delete command allows you to remove an add-on in the Attributes dialog box. Complete the following steps to use the Delete command:  

  1. In the Item and its components pane of the Attributes dialog box, select the add-on that you want to delete.

  2. Click the Delete Attachment button in the Item and its components pane toolbar.
