Note: If you prefer to add walls/construction lines in 90-degree angles, select the Draw walls using 90 degree angles check box in the Walls/Construction Lines pane of the Preferences dialog box. Then, see Draw connected walls/construction lines using 90-degree angles for additional instructions.
Complete the following steps to draw connected walls/construction lines:
-
In the ROOM LAYOUT ribbon, click the solid Continuous button to place adjacent walls, or click the dashed Continuous button to place adjacent construction lines.
By default, the system draws single-sided walls (one placement zone). To draw double-sided walls, click the arrow below either Continuous button. -
Click in the floor area to draw the beginning of the wall/construction line. The EDIT SHAPE ribbon appears.
The following buttons in the Edit Shape ribbon determine the wall justification:
Draw using the front dimension. This is the default wall justification. See Front dimension wall justification for an example.
Draw using the center dimension. See Center dimension wall justification for an example.
Draw using the back dimension. See Back dimension wall justification for an example. -
Extend the wall/construction line to the required length. You can move the pointer to the left or right to change angles.
To change the angle by 45-degree increments, click the Ortho button in the Work Area toolbar. -
If you no longer want to add this wall, press ESC.
If you want to add the wall, click to confirm this length, or type values in the Placement box and press ENTER.
You can use the Edit Shape ribbon to change the wall justification. -
To add another wall/construction line, repeat steps 3 and 4.
To stop adding walls/construction lines, press the ESC key.
