If you usually place the same door model on your design, this feature is a time-saver because it allows you to place a preselected door.
Before you start placing basic doors, you must set the basic door in the Walls and Construction Lines pane of the Preferences dialog box; otherwise, the Basic Door command will be deactivated.
Complete the following steps to place a basic door:
-
In the ROOM LAYOUT ribbon, click Basic Door.
-
Select the wall or construction line where you would like to place the door.
-
Click to set the initial position of the door.
-
If a default width was not set in the Preferences dialog box, drag the pointer and click to set the width.
Note! If the default door width is greater than 0 in the Preferences dialog box, this step is omitted. -
Move the pointer to choose the door hinge direction and click to set.
Tip: To verify the hinge and door direction, create a perspective rendering or open up the Attributes dialog box for the door. For example, the hinge direction shown in the previous figure will result in a door similar to the one shown in the following figure.
