Use the Work Area tab to:

display/hide the Floor Plan grid and the grid origin.

change the grid spacing, color of the grid lines, background color of the Floor Plan, and the snap spacing.

specify the system of measurement for your Work area.

Display grid lines on your Floor Plan |
Select Display Grid. |
Change the grid spacing |
Select Display Grid, then type the new measure in the Grid Spacing field. You can also use the arrows on the left for integers and the arrows on the right for fractional values. |
Select the grid color |
Select Display Grid, then click the Grid Color arrow and choose the color. To use a color not shown, click Other to open the Colors dialog box. |
Select the background color for your floor plan |
Click the Background Color arrow and choose the color. To use another color, click Other to open the Color dialog box. |
Display a point of origin on the Floor Plan area |
Select Display Grid Origin (0,0). You can use this reference point to easily obtain user dimensions and move items precisely. In 2D, like the Floor Plan area, you specify points on the XY-plane, also called the construction plane. The construction plane is similar to a flat sheet of graph paper. The X value represents the horizontal distance, and the Y value represents the vertical distance. The origin point (0,0) indicates where the two axes intersect. |
Display the floor plan camera |
Select Display Camera to view the floor plan camera that allows you set a view point before launching a Perspective View. |
Assign an increment value for the item movement |
Type the measure in the Snap Spacing field, or use the arrows on the left for integers and the arrows on the right for fractional values. Note: To disable the Area Snap option and move items in free mode, deactivate the Area Snap button on the Work Area toolbar. |
