The quickest way to toggle between the different view modes is to point to the item’s preview image and right-click. To see a sample of each view mode, refer to the topic View modes. For instructions on disabling some of the view modes in this dialog box, see Rendering preferences.
To change the view mode (wireframe, color or texture), the view type (3D, elevation, side, top), and the background color of the view, you can also click the Display button in the Attributes dialog box. The Display Options dialog box opens.
In the Display Options dialog box, complete the following steps to change the options:

Select a view mode from the View mode list.

Select a view type from the Type list.

Changing the background color can be useful to increase the contrast, allowing you to view the item more clearly or put more emphasis on it. To change the color of the view background, click the Background button. In the Windows Color dialog box, select the new color. Click OK to close the Color dialog box.

Click OK to close the Display Options dialog box.
